spare time

by Carrie Lawson

watching and waiting

so you say

for nothing.

this world of t.v, an empty void.

poems made of pretty rhyme

decorate a page

but hostile words

fill and negate

a real purpose.

life is short,

why watch and wait?

you say each moment

is better wasted

on foolish words

and idle topics.

too much spare time

to spend on the trivial

because you have no "friends"
